There is a lot to be said about the state of the music industry today. For years, people have criticised the profiteering of multi-billion dollar companies, while others have supported the aid they provide to the clients they represent. To deny the value of record companies in a traditional capacity is unfair; establishing opportunities of publishing, recording and distribution is invaluable to artists otherwise oblivious to the business aspect of a creative industry.
