Do's And Don'ts For Digipack & Magazine Covers

Do's:
  • Use Clear Font
  • Use appropriate sizes for images and font.
  • Use clear in focus pictures.
  • Use appropriate sized photos.
  • Use the layout that follows the convention of the rule of 3rd for composition.
  • Use appropriate type face that's follows:
  1.  Genre Convention
  2. A house style
  • Follow convention of the 3 colour rule and use colour that is appropriate.
  • Use appropriate industry logos and conventions, properly positioned:
  1. Barcode
  2. Date
  3. Copyright
  4. Titles
  5. Artists name.
Don'ts:
  • Stretch images, this will make them out of focus.
  • Use layer styles
  • Use unnecessary effects. Any effects used MUST suit the genre.
  • Place text across artists face.
  • Use a font simply because 'you like it'.
  • Fell you need a separate photo on every panel - be creative!!!
These are all features which are simple to follow to make our covers great, however if we do not follow the dos and donts as a template i believe that the whole process of making a digipack could go down hill, also seeing as this is what is used alongside the mark scheme.
